It has been a funny old week in the office with a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and I seem to have arrived at Friday again sooner than expected! Outside of the demands publishing and writing place on me, I also teach, but the summer holiday is looming and a few weeks off from that are about to begin along with all the end of term culminations like concerts and sports days. Tomorrow is going to be especially good fun as the York Symphony Orchestra is performing at the University Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall. We will be playing Holst’s Planets Suite, Debussy’s L’apres midi d’une faune, and Delius’s Dance Suite number 1. The orchestra, when all together and in full swing, is a joy to behold and a real privilege to be a part of. As I post this blog entry it is 24 hours and 14 minutes to lift off.
