I am writing this on the Wednesday morning before the Friday I normally post for two reasons, neither of which is the fact that Friday is going to be the 13th! The first reason is because I have just completed the last few bars of my work in progress which I can now reveal is a suite for trumpet and piano, and I am just excited \bout it. Admittedly I have a first time bar to sort out and the dynamics and articulation to fill in, but the notes are all there. This is a piece that has lurked in my subconscious for a long time and it is, at long last, out into the world. The second reason I am writing this a couple of days early is that I am travelling to Devon tomorrow to see my lovely niece play a leading role in a stage production of Kinky Boots. Sometimes life is just good.
