This time tomorrow night we will be in the process of performing Tchaikowsky’s 1st Piano Concerto in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall at York University. This is where all the York Symphony Orchestra concert’s take place, and what a venue! It will be quite the test of endurance though because we are also playing Schostakowitch’s 10th Symphony. It is a long and busy work for all players and demanding on the lips of a brass player, but I am not complaining, I am looking forward to it. Progress on my latest choral work is slow, not just because I have been more involved with playing and moving house, it is also the school holiday and have had 3 grandchildren to entertain. After the last few days, a marathon concert will seem like light relief! But I would not miss a minute of childcare and spending time with the people who matter the most to me. Have a great weekend.
