It has been a hectic few months here in the Dark Horse office. I have stoically persevered with my compositions, completing my choral work and starting something new for orchestra, on top of which I had a wild idea for a more avant-garde piece which came into being with gratifying speed. I intend to record this piece soon as it defies description. All of this going on against the usual backdrop of childcare, rehearsals and concerts. I was once again really privileged to play with the Academy of St Olave’s Orchestra on Saturday and played Beethoven’s 1st Symphony once again as well as Mozart’s Impresario Overture which is an absolutely delightful work, full of energy and joie de vivre. I urge you to look at their website. Whilst you are surfing the net, why not take a look at the YSO website ahead of our summer concert that will take place at the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall in York University on 12th July. I can guarantee it will be a spectacular concert. Before that I am excited to be playing Beethoven’s 5th Symphony on Saturday 28th June with the York Beethoven Project. I’m enjoying being this busy.
