I have been absent for a while from the Dark Horse Desk as I have been caught up in family matters. Sometimes life strikes like lightening and all we can do is take shelter as best we can against the “slings and arrows” sent our way. Some things though do come around with constantly and predictably, things like Christmas, birthdays and, of course, Remembrance Sunday. A day we should all reflect upon, especially in the current political climate. Whatever our political ideals some things are common to us all; freedom to live, love, pray (or not) and thrive unmolested and without fear are universal human desires and needs. It was for those precise reasons our forefathers fought and died, so in just over 24 hours from when I write these words perhaps we can all take two minutes to let this thought settle and take root in our hearts and minds.
